1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Nuovabot, operated by MediaNuova, uses cookies and similar technologies on nuovabot.com and in the Nuovabot dashboard. It applies to Customers (businesses) who use the Nuovabot platform.

We keep our use of cookies limited. One cookie is strictly necessary to operate the service. We also use Google Ads conversion tracking on our public marketing pages, which is not strictly necessary and is only activated if you consent to it.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember information about your session, such as whether you are logged in. This policy also covers similar technologies, such as browser local storage.

The chatbot widget embedded on Customer websites does not set cookies or any other storage on End Users' browsers - see section 5.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies We Use

3.1 Strictly necessary

Authentication session cookie

Set by: Supabase (our authentication provider)
Purpose: Keeps you logged in to the Nuovabot dashboard during your session
Type: Strictly necessary - without this cookie, login is not possible
Duration: Persistent; expires after 400 days or when you log out
Can it be disabled? No - this cookie is required for the service to function

Cookie consent preference

Set by: Nuovabot (browser local storage, key nuovabot-cookie-consent)
Purpose: Remembers whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies, so we do not ask again on every page
Type: Strictly necessary - it exists solely to record and honour your choice
Duration: Until you clear your browser storage
Can it be disabled? No - without it we cannot remember that you declined

3.2 Advertising - consent required

Google Ads conversion tracking

Set by: Google (gtag.js, conversion ID AW-18157655348), loaded on our public marketing pages
Purpose: Measures whether visits from our advertising resulted in a sign-up, and supports remarketing
Type: Advertising - not strictly necessary
Consent: Denied by default for all visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland via Google Consent Mode. No advertising cookies or advertising identifiers are set unless you press "Accept all" in our cookie banner. If you press "Decline", they remain off.

3.3 Analytics - no cookies

Vercel Web Analytics

Set by: Vercel (our hosting provider)
Purpose: Aggregate page-view counts so we can see which pages are used
Type: Cookieless - it sets no cookies and stores no persistent identifier on your device, and does not track you across sites

4. What We Do Not Do

We do not use social media tracking pixels.
We do not build behavioural profiles of individual visitors.
We do not sell cookie data, and we do not share it with data brokers.
We do not use any non-essential cookies inside the Customer dashboard, or on End Users of the chatbot widget. Google Ads conversion tracking runs on our public marketing pages only.

5. The Chatbot Widget

When a Nuovabot chatbot is embedded on a Customer's website via the JavaScript widget, it renders inside a Shadow DOM and does not set any cookies on the End User's browser. The widget communicates with Nuovabot's servers over HTTPS, but no persistent identifiers are stored on the End User's device.

If you are a business that has embedded a Nuovabot chatbot on your website, you are responsible for disclosing the chatbot's presence and data practices to your own users in your privacy policy. Please refer to the Nuovabot Data Processing Agreement for details.

6. Managing Cookies

The strictly necessary cookies in section 3.1 are exempt from the consent requirement under the ePrivacy Directive, Art. 5(3), because the service cannot function without them.

The Google Ads conversion tracking in section 3.2 is not exempt, so we ask for your consent before activating it. Our cookie banner offers "Accept all" and "Decline" with equal prominence; declining is a single click and carries no penalty. Until you choose, advertising storage stays denied for visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland.

To change your mind later: clear the nuovabot-cookie-consent entry from your browser's local storage for nuovabot.com and reload the page - the banner will reappear and you can choose again.

If you wish to delete or block the session cookie, you can do so through your browser settings. Please note that doing so will log you out of the Nuovabot dashboard and the service will not function without it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if we change how cookies are used on the platform. If we introduce further non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we will update this policy and make them subject to the same consent mechanism before activating them.

Material changes will be communicated to Customers via email at least 30 days before they take effect.
